Cakey - Cake Cost Calculator

1. Overview

Cakey is an app that helps bakers work out the true cost and profit of their cakes. You add ingredients with their prices, build recipes from those ingredients, and Cakey calculates the cost, sale price, and profit for each recipe.

You can use Cakey without creating an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, your data is linked to your account so it carries over across devices. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect either way, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

A. Content You Create (all users, with or without an account)

• Ingredients. The ingredient names, prices, units, and amounts you enter.
• Recipes. Recipe names, categories, batch sizes, hands-on time, sale prices, and the ingredients used in each recipe.
• Categories. Any custom recipe categories you create.
• App preferences. Your selected currency and target profit rate range.
• Anonymous device identifier. If you use the app without signing in, your recipes, ingredients, and preferences are associated with an anonymous identifier tied to your device, so the app can function (e.g. enforcing free plan limits).

B. Account Data (only if you sign in with Apple or Google)

If you sign in, we authenticate you through Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In and may receive:

• A unique user identifier issued by Apple or Google
• Your name (only if you choose to share it on first sign-in)
• An email address — either your real address or a provider-generated private relay address, depending on your preference

Signing in links your existing recipes, ingredients, and preferences to your account so they're available across devices. We do not have access to your Apple ID or Google account password; authentication is handled entirely by Apple or Google.

C. Purchase Data

If you subscribe to Cakey PRO, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit or by Google through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We may receive limited information from Apple or Google (such as subscription status and expiry) to unlock premium features on your account.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data described above to:

• Calculate ingredient costs, recipe costs, and profit for the recipes you create
• Sync your recipes, ingredients, and preferences across your devices when you sign in
• Enforce free-tier limits and unlock premium features for subscribers
• Maintain and improve the app's functionality and reliability
• Provide customer support when you contact us

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your data to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your recipes, ingredients, preferences, and account data are stored on our own servers. We do not share this content with any third party other than the payment and sign-in providers described below. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

5. Third-Party Services

• Sign in with Apple — handles authentication; governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We never receive your Apple ID credentials.
• Google Sign-In — handles authentication; governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We never receive your Google account credentials.
• Apple StoreKit — processes subscriptions and purchases on iOS; governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We never receive your payment details.
• Google Play Billing — processes subscriptions and purchases on Android; governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We never receive your payment details.
• Apple App Store / Google Play Analytics — the stores may collect aggregate, anonymized usage data (downloads, sessions, crashes) through their standard platform tools, governed by their own privacy policies. We don't have access to individually identifiable data through this mechanism.

We do not currently integrate any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. If this changes, we will update this policy.

6. Children's Privacy

Cakey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with data, please contact us at [email protected] so we can delete it.

7. Your Rights

We are committed to respecting your rights under applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK). You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. If you use the app without an account, you can contact us at [email protected] to request deletion of data tied to your device identifier. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We retain your recipes, ingredients, preferences, and account data for as long as your account is active, or, for guest users, until you request deletion. If you delete your account through the app, we permanently delete your data from our servers, though some residual data may remain in backups for a limited period before being fully purged.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make meaningful changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
